Viva La Globalization!
Very imposing, and very commanding. Just do it...

Okay
The Croc.
Haha, get it? TAP into more great times at Friday's...
Nope... that didnt work...
I was walking around the bookstore at about 11am and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, and a film SLR shutter sounds like a 50 cal. shit.

Interactive art they say. This thing just gets you wet...

not that kind of wet...
slightly out of focus, but still very stylish :) I'm teaching her how to use the digital Sony. She loves it.

Greenbelt 5 Mall. We have so many malls in the Philippines, we're running out of names to call them.
Toy dogs seem to be becoming a popular accessory too here...
This lady even pooped one out
Japanese Pancake Pizza Omelet. Okonomiyaki. Had to run into "Little Tokyo" to stay dry.
Everyone else was watching a Tigers baseball game. This dude and I were just :|
Coffee shop pimp. Way to go.

My dad thinks all this Globalization smells funny, but it's what makes the world go 'round. Thank you McDonald's.
Yeaaah. Smells funny...

Blog EntryRandom Old Photos While Waiting...Aug 12, '08 12:12 PM
for everyone
While waiting for my toys to arrive in the mail, and for my scans to get to me, I've decided to post up some older photos.

See---

Saw

Boozing Up at 7-11 (some time in 2006)

Still Boozing Up

Miguel playing some House of The Dead

The Philippines' very first Krispy Kreme. I camped out for 18 hours to catch this.

Back when my Yashica still had life in it.

I Love Cupcakes

Caroline with the bongo's I gave her.

Caroline's first job in Manila

Roby and Ron

Something Marton and I did for Christmas 2007

Ayala Museum

The Bird. (2006)

My polaroid addiction started and ended in 2007 when I got myself a camera only 3 days before Polaroid stopped production of film. Fuck.

Photobooth series. Something I've been working on recently. Started with Caroline ofcourse.

and yours truly

It's easy to trace packages from other countries to the Philippines (Method of Shipping is EMS), via the interweb, but once it hits our shores, there's no telling how long it takes to get shit out of the post office. Im waiting on a Bessa R4A and a Nokton 35 1.4. God please please please be with me in my time of need. Get it out of the customs quick and undamaged...

Yashica T4 ($112, Ebay)

Voigtlander Bessa R4A (SGD$ 950)

It's about time I was good to myself.
Now it's just a waiting game.

Sneaky Rolls, Meter on the Fritz
I didn't know what was on this roll, but it was tucked snug in my closet and as I was cleaning out, I decided to have this processed and scanned. I now know why I didn't scan this in the first place, the shots from it were hardly keepers...

A burnt half frame. My cousin JJ learning how to use Photoshop. This guy's got heart :)

A happy couple having some tea

Buckles. My Loyal Beagle.

My dad. He's a milkman, here he is examining the milk's consistency and viscosity in the glass. He never really liked the business cause it really is a bitch negotiating with mainland Indians and getting them to ship ANYTHING out on time. Hare Krishna.

My folks watching a movie while waiting for dessert. This is quite cute.

This was from a Call Of Duty night at Jame's pad. The guy has computers and sensors in every fucking corner. U.P. over here decided to distract us during controller setup.

that's about it from this lost roll.
and it might be the last from my Yashica Electro 35. The meter is acting funny, and when a rangefinder wont focus on infinity, you know something's wrong.

Picked up a pair of Nike Delta Force SI's on sale earlier.
I'm not a big sneaker fan, but these looked great. I hope I don't get addicted.

Mine are black, red, and white though :)

I'm not the neatest person when it comes to arranging my stuff, but one of my new year's resolutions was to change that, and start organizing my room, my notes, and my files. Since I'm moving my older stuff onto an external drive soon, I figured I'd share some of them with you before moving them into storage.
This was taken after our side trip to the little surfing/beach province of La Union. Migs was tired after numerous face plants in the sand...

Lining up for sunblock. I hear in Russia, they have to do this for bread!

This is Gab giving up after trying to body board.

Moonwalking on Skates!

The guys started to play tag after a while at this tiny amusement center in what was Camp John-Hay in Baguio City. Many former American bases were turned into money making machines after they [The Americans] were forced to leave. Gab gets away from James who obviously skated only in his dreams. We almost died laughing cause it seemed like a bad horror flick where it takes the monster forever to creep up to the kids. James must have fallen 15 times before realizing the game is going nowhere, fast!

Depressed looking dog tied up outside a Korean school. I would be depressed too...

More photos from the beach

Very nostalgic. This was a couple days before I found the love of my life :)

Let me start off by introducing myself, my name is Sanjeev Thakur, but my friends call me Sonny, I am an Engineering Student at the De La Salle University and I am passionate about Photography. I use it as a medium to express myself. Recently, my photography has been going stale because I lack brilliant subjects. In the recent incline of photography here in the Philippines, it's not uncommon to see the same style of photography on many different local forums and websites. So where am I driving at?

My first Photo exhibit / collective / Photobook

Im looking at 50 pages, 50 stories, and 50 individuals (on occassion, groups) in one neat little package.

And all of you have to be strangers, or acquaintances, or online buddies with stories to tell.
I'm looking for:

Independent film makers
Entrepreneurs
Bands
Musicians
Artists (Starving Artists will be prioritized)
Stylists
Authors
Poets
Chefs
Dancers
Teachers
Scientists
Engineers
Circus Clowns
Millionaires
Billionaires
Diplomats
Businessmen
Call center team
Cosplayers
Professional Video Gamers
Just be INTERESTING :)

Everyone who participates will get a print and a digital copy of the print, they will also be able to use the pictures I take immediately without any restrictions (be fair, dont abuse) and will be notified when the book will eventually be relased. This project will take a while to complete, and I will need all the help I can get from all the strangers out there. Imagine what this might do for your Myspace or Facebook Profile ;)

You may reach me at sthiro@pldtdsl.net, the PM function of multiply, Facebook, Friendster, and 0917.531.7234 http://hippospartan.multiply.com

Blog EntrySo long Fresh Fridays... I'll miss youJun 8, '08 1:19 AM
for everyone

If you still don't know, last Friday was my last night as Fresh Friday's Friendly Party Paparazzo. I've set my priorities out and got the experience I need from my 3 month stint as a partytographer. I am very happy that the club is in great hands with my bud Enzo. The guy knows how to shoot, and has a bigger fan following than I do already, wow. I'll never forget all my wild Friday nights out with the guys that are essentially, Fiamma. Nick, Cas, Euric, Emra, Mark, Ricky, Rich, Chesca, Jason, Denise, Revo, Denise, Carlo, Naz, CL and the All-Stars,  damn damn damn I have a whole list of names here and I'm pretty sure that I've met more people in those three months than in the rest of my life.

My first night at Fiamma, where I had a lackluster 30 usable photos with blank expressions. I met CL and the All-Stars.

Then I met this fellow, who made me leave my bag of goodies at home, and for good reason.

I got my friends in on it too, most of you know Gab and Decky, they're two people you're sure to bump in to any given Friday night.

Tommy Mac. If you're reading this, drop me a line man. Namaste. ;)

Us photographers call this work :)

DJ Euric providing the most bitchin beats!

I'm really going to miss my Friday Nights... :(

Hitler :)

HAHAHA!

The birthday parties were always a blast to attend!

Emra, providing the other half of the night's sick beats

Thanks for the Flowers Cas. Man, I dont want to sound gay, but I'll miss you.

Time to take over Enzo ;)

Getting the same instruction I got :)

Thank You Carlo!

This is it. :) I'll try to drop by whenever I can to hang out with you guys, and enjoy longer conversations with you rather than walk around the club like a schizo on steroids. Thank you all for the great opportunity, Enzo's gonna do a great job promoting Fiamma and Fresh Fridays, no doubt. Fuck, I suck at goodbyes... I'll see you guys when I see you...

Blog EntryPacking for Summer...May 26, '08 10:10 AM
for everyone
April 16, just after collecting all my course cards, I knew we were set for sweet sailing when all my grades were above what I was expecting. I got tickets much earlier though, but I would never have forgiven myself, nor enjoyed my summer vacation as much if I failed any of my units on my last senior term. Here is Caroline, repacking her bag for the umpteenth time so as to make weight... and a dinner at Fish and Co.

Blog Entrywaaaaay overdue entry: Back in ManilaMay 22, '08 1:00 PM

I've been away for three long weeks, and as expected, nothing here has changed. Life is still great. I don't know how many shots I've taken back with me from Iloilo because they're still at DPI being scanned and put on DVDs. I just hope that I have a couple of keepers to show you guys. Since I plan on making a pretty kick ass blog about my trip, here's a little souvenir from our day at the park instead.
